The robots are winning- Helldivers 2 players are convinced those new planet defense missions are so difficult they must be bugged-

Following yesterday’s surprise assault on the Xzar system by the Automaton menace, the helldivers are in shambles. Squads are failing Planet Defense campaigns in droves as players complain that the new civilian rescue missions are way too difficult. Helldivers 2’s galactic war is changing at a pace we don’t usually see in a multiplayer game: As players complete one conquest, developer Arrowhead then triggers new planetary conflicts as lightly narrativized events.

24 hours into the war’s new front, a red progress bar that’s longer than a blue progress bar suggests the robots are winning. With just four hours remaining on the countdown above the planet Draupnir, Super Earth might suffer its first major loss.

Is a (non-Terminid) bug to blame? Possibly. Just hours after yesterda…

This cult open world bugfest from 2005 is making a comeback-

Originally released in 2005, and developed by the Ukrainian studio Deep Shadows, Boiling Point: Road to Hell is an extremely buggy, flawed, and some would claim unforgettable open world FPS. It arrived at a time when open worlds were relatively uncommon and, well, kinda showed why: the game was absolutely overreaching in its goals, and pratfalled at nearly every turn. Now it’s being re-released on both Steam and GOG.

Get a load of the Steam store description. “Upon finding out his daughter has been kidnapped in the pseudo-South American country of Realia, Saul Myers, a veteran of the French Foreign Legion, must head to Realia on a rescue mission.” Saul Myers himself is a candidate for most forgettable protagonist ever, but that’s of a piece with a cast that includes the likes of v…

We’ve spotted a 16GB RX 6800 for $380, which makes it cheaper than your average 8GB RTX 4060 Ti-

Thinking back on 2020 now is a bit of a weird experience, like looking back on a time that never was. Amidst all the turmoil in that particularly difficult year, there were at least some GPU launches to keep us busy while we weathered the storm, and of particular note was the launch of several of the RX 6000-series of AMD GPUs.

We’ve just spotted a version of a particular stalwart of that generation, the Radeon RX 6800, in the form of the XFX Speedster SWFT 319 RX 6800 for $380 at Walmart, and even today its still got the sort of performance that gives some of the more modern cards a run for their money.

For a start, check out that VRAM, all 16GB of it. VRAM has been a bit of a contentious issue in more recent times, what with a fair bit of backlash for the RTX 4060 Ti…

Victoria 3 conjures up yet another DLC type as it braces for its ‘grandest update to military, economy, and diplomacy’ yet-

Like the industrial revolution itself, Victoria 3 forges ahead with patches and expansions, tearing asunder the idiocy of rural life, melting all that was once solid into the air, and faring relatively poorly in the Steam reviews for its DLC (the Steam reviews for capitalism would have been terrible in 1848, which is probably why they didn’t have them).

But the game’s next DLC is adding some ordem to all that progresso, taking us away from the empires of Europe in order to focus on South America, particularly Brazil.

Victoria 3’s Colossus of the South DLC is a narrative-focused “region pack” that will drop alongside the game’s 1.5 update on November 14, just over two weeks from now. Marketed as a “new type of product for Victoria,” these region packs …

I spent a lot of time staring at the yellow I unearthed on my second guess today, trying to imagine how it was supposed to fit with the pair of greens I’d revealed with my opener. The good news is I locked that in place soon enough. The bad news is this unlocked a rich seam of potential answers, and I just had to work through them until I found the correct Wordle answer—one guess away from the end.

Zero-gravity FPS Boundary is quietly one of April’s coolest new releases-

Boundary is a game about astronauts—sorry, astroperators—who float around in space having gunfights with each other, and if space sounds like a challenging place for shooting guns at people, you’d be right. Space is really not the ideal location for anything humans do, nevermind tactical infantry battles, but it is quite a lot of fun.

Boundary released in early access on Steam a week ago, and has so far earned a “Mostly Positive” rating from user reviewers. I’ve been occupied with the XDefiant beta, so I haven’t put a ton of time into Boundary, but I’ve played enough to say that I also feel mostly positive about it.

It’s got your typical FPS modes, such as team deathmatch, a domination point-capture mode, and a no-respawn TDM. The presentation remi…

Rupee settles flat at 82.91 against US dollar

The rupee on Thursday settled flat at 82.91 (provisional) against the US dollar, as the support from lower crude oil prices and a weak greenback against major crosses overseas was offset by sustained foreign capital outflows.

Besides, a positive trend in equity markets provided a cushion to the domestic unit, forex traders said.

Market participants were also cautious ahead of the domestic GDP data to be released later in the day, they added.

SEBI urges investors to remain calm and exercise due diligence

The market regulator, SEBI has issued a statement. The statement urges, “investors should remain calm and exercise due diligence before reacting to such reports. Investors may also like to take note of the disclaimer in the report that states that readers should assume that Hindenburg Research may have short positions in the securities covered in the report.”

The report disputes SEBI’s decision to issue a show cause notice to Hindenburg Research on June 27, 2024, and asserts that the agency has not taken any action against the Adani Group. Furthermore, it asserts that SEBI modified the 2014 SEBI (REIT) Regulations to the advantage of a multinational financial conglomerate with a diverse portfolio. Notably, the allegations made by Hindenburg Research, agains…
